Phase 3: Profit !

By reading Gevlon’s post, spark some idea in my mind.

I am not very fond of political myself, but my thoughts is about eastern and western country difference.

No Pain No Gain

From many Economist speculation,

Think that welfare country (Such as US and Euro Country) had a much more burden on competition to the non-welfare country.

I hate to say that, but in Eastern country e.g. China, Singapore, Viet Nam, Philippines, Thailand etc… They don’t really care about people starving on street nor need medical attention. You are on your own, everyone for himself. I am shameful on my own country is in such state. But hey, that needs time, our people is getting away from hunger not for long… (Myself on the other hand is very lucky that born in Hong Kong)

Is it a better place to live? I don’t think so.

However, I believe there are much less M&S than welfare country. Why, because no one caters those M&S, when you got cheated or do a stupid investment, you had no one to blame except yourself. If you are starving, no one will feed you, you had to find a way to feed yourself. Being M&S is not an option.

There won’t be bullet shooting you, but starving and sickness kills.

Same applies to Wow, in order to get rid of M&S /Make them learn, the only thing you can do, is make them hurt. If a mage did not know how to ice block, let him die. If a dpser OT every time, let him die, or kick him out, or he’ll never learnt.

Back to bigger scale. Problem on the state is, the vote is on the mass. M&S outnumbered the others. No one can cut welfare nor benefits, since most of the voters are getting that themselves or are socialist who support that. (In Wow, “votes” translates to “subscriptions”)

I don’t have a suggestion on how to fix the problem (So don’t ask). Seems human stupidity will kill themselves… Existing Government model seems unable handle that I guess…

Blog Reinforcement

I had been busying fixing up stuff, layouts, project description page (grammar checks). And if you had notice, I had created a logo graphics at the top. Planning to create more later, but making one already take much time, since I am no expert of that.

Had been reading article on blogazeroth, and learn more on blogging. A little tips here, a little tips there. Looks very helpful though… but by the end of day, I didn’t get much article wrote .

PodCast

I Started to listen to many podcast with my new companion. My personal favorite the instance, Scott really got a talent for that, I didn’t listen many podcast before (except BRK’s which I still miss his hunter’s advise a lot )

I found out that, I missed the entry to Sherry in my blog roll. Dxxn I thought I already linked her… Gees…

Miy is closing up as well. I found her/his idea on reducing the time needed on trading is really good, and the blog focusing is great either. Hope he’ll continue to blog on other topics as well… (Like BRK), anyway, Good luck, so long…

Geeky Stuff on Wordpress OpenID

These got me troubled for the whole week,
Non-default Permalink will crash on OpenID (for commenting on other’s blog)
I tried to fix that, but no luck. Here’s how I “fixed” it.

• Create account on myopenid.com
• Delegant my openID to myopenid.com (either by hand or wordpress plugin named myopenid) (Beware of double entry, some blog site will have error on that)
• Swtich off the simple XDRS plugin, so that the openID plugin is still running (Reader can still left comments with their openid), but my openid is on MyOpenid.com now. So whenever I left comment on blogspot or other blog site, they’ll ask for MyOpenID.com instead (Blogspot is picky and buggy IMO).
• I still retain the rights of changing my openid, just by changing xrds entry on the site later, If I found a better openid provider than myopenid.

Am looking into openavatar / gavatar of my avatar for leaving comment though…

If you can read this post you’re not the one I’m trying to reach. Does this sound cryptic?The thing is that it seems as if my old domain address http://pinkpigtailinn.blogspot.com doesn’t work. It used to redirect visitors to www.pinkpigtailinn.com, but not so any longer. I don’t know if this is a temporary issue or a permanent change of things. And no matter what it is – I have no idea what to do about it.

So I just want to get out the word: please change your bookmarks and links to PPI to the new domain address, or my voice will be lost in the eternal sea of Internet.

But how could I get in touch with the ones who need to know it and tell them that their virtual pub hasn’t closed, just moved? I have no idea.

Proper posts are incoming later this week. Don’t lose hope!

New Article

I wrote another game theory article regarding our pugging experiences, which I like writing very much, maybe I didn’t present the idea clearly, I guess there are room to improve anyway (Let me knowif you like it, or opinion on how to improve it). I really like that article myself

Patch 3.2

The Blogosphere is stormed with information and speculation of the 3.2 patch. IMO, it’s a nice thing for the mount change, (New standard bank alt level will be on 20, due to travel time reduction). I am not quite sure for the twink and emblem thing yet, I guess the twink one actually will decrease the people who are twinking. And the emblem changes will definitely impact the BOE epic market.

About the twink, why doesn’t blizzard takes an extra step? Mechanisms that can temporary reduce your level to much lower one? Tune down, the current gear / temp gear for it? How about, dungeon mode that automatically tune down your level to match the dungeon, so that there is none Super 80lv slaughter?

Blog Update

Gear up!

Since I am having my new netbook now, I kind of aware what I can do offline, that’s what I can pack up in my little netbook, so that I can access while I am moving. After a little research, I notice that I can access the Google reader offline with Google gear installed. (I need to actively save the feed up for 30 seconds before I go though… and kind of buggy at the moment)

And I sort of want to check what I had written on my own blog. So after a little extra research, I had that enabled here as well. (Thanks for [insert name here]). This wordpress plug-in only work for Firefox user, and I modified it a little bit to work on my wordpress installation, and a little hack to remove the graphics from caching (So that my little web server can survive).

For any fellow blogger would like to have these for their site, feel free to mail me on that.

The above is what I prepared to post on this Sunday. But not for now. Don’t do it, maybe I am just specious, but I got a feeling that the Google actually block some of my reader from reading my blog. While offering offline reading, reader had to explicitly turn back to online mode when there is an update. Blocking reader is one of the last things I want to do to my blog. Gees.

DO NOT install Google gear support; even your inner geek begs you for it. Wait till google fix it up.

Business

While I was busying leveling with my girlfriend, the auction hall keep granting me profits, that’s makes me feel good. The inscription business (Glyph and Ink) still generate 300-400g each day. I still got my extra 4-5k cash, without ways to reinvest. Got a 1000g blue whelp and lots of herbs with the profit, so practically my gold level stabilized.

One thing worth to mention is that.

There is a guy keep sending COD to me, (I just announced a LFB in trade couples days before.) This guy regularly sends me 12-24 sets of herbs everyday. On Saturday and Sunday, every 3-4 hours. That is nice for me, since I don’t have to ask for any more herbs in the trade channel now. What makes me think is, if this guy is picking all those herbs himself, he’s not playing at all. I guess I had purchased more than 4k herbs from him, aside of the inscription herbs, there are also herbs for alchemy which he can gain a decent profit I guess… but still, using the whole Saturday and Sunday on Herb gathering is unthinkable of me. That urges me on writing the article on Food Chain…

Game Life

My Girl Friend and I reached 30 levels and I get my full set of totem (Will post Screenshot later), we were busying cut through wetland and duskwood, and down Stitches http://www.wowhead.com/?npc=412 (with the help of the town npc of course)

I had much less time for business now  and there are more Scribe competing on the market now. I wonder should I just heavily undercut them to drive them out of the market thought; relisting is so time-consuming….

I noticed the visitor number drop significantly after I installed the Google Gear. (Another possibility is that people suddenly lose interest of this blog in this week, OMG )

I suspect that some readers accidently clicked the “Read Offline”, and never clicked the “Read Online” again.

My fault, I’ll turn off the google gear function for now. I can only hope my twist to the script can automatically change their mode back to online again (Finger crossed)
