A fun post for patch/maintenance day!

There is an expression that says that “good things come in threes.” If that’s the case, then it seems that P3P has just received a third good piece of publicity. First there was Markco, who took time to write an entire post in reaction to a post here on P3P. Then there was the inclusion into wow.com’s resource guide. And now, the third: we got a plug on Mike Schramm and Turpster’s “The Incredible Podcast of Amazing Awesomeness” (TIPOAA).

As I’m sure most of the P3P readers know, Mike Schramm was the head of wow.com for a number of years, leaving only very recently. He was a poster who was promoted to co-lead blogger/senior editor (two different names for the same position, apparently), and was the driving force behind the WoW Insider podcast since its inception until his recent departure from wow.com.

Turpster, aka: Mark Turpin/the Turpra/”that other gnome prot warrior,” has been a fixture in the WoW commentary/blogging world for a long time as well. He is the creator of Turpstervision, began working for the recently-defunct WoW Radio, and eventually moved to wow.com. With Mike, Turpster was a regular fixture on many of the more recent episodes of the WoW Insider podcast. When Mike left wow.com, so did Turpster, and they presumably rode off into teh interwebs together.

However, they couldn’t keep completely away. After leaving wow.com, they decided to start their current project together, TIPOAA. It’s a very funny podcast, and is not limited to just WoW. They talk about whatever comes up and produce a podcast that is funny, interesting, and worth listening to. If you like listening to podcasts, I recommend this one. It always entertains and I am in a better mood after listening to it.

ANYWAY, let me get to the point. TIPOAA takes voice mails, and I was featured on their recent episode #4. I called in to make sure that Turpster knew that real men do, in fact, read Pride and Prejudice (something that was challenged in Episode #3). My call was played on the podcast, they had some fun with my it, and yes, at 1 hr, 13 mins, 34 secs into the podcast (1:13:34), Turpster actually says, “I like Bigjimm.” ZOMG, that’s all win.

Edit: I just read the blurb for episode #4 on the TIPOAA homepage, indicating that the episode included, “Mike’s reading choice of Pride and Prejudice [being] justified by callers.” Apparently I’m now known as “callers” as well as Bigjimm. To quote Turpster, brilliant!
