Update, and May Call for Questions!

It’s been longer than usual between posts, for a number of reasons:

(1) Zekta is on vacation. (Really, he’s actually in an undisclosed non-Hong Kong location for a while. *coughDisneyWorldcough*), and

(2) We’re working on a series for the site, and it’s taking a little bit of time, and

(3) Phase 3, Profit! Okay, so there’s only two reasons. ANYWAYS…

We are working on something for the site, but I’ll do a proper post shortly when it’s ready to be revealed. We’re excited, and it should become a regular running segment. But, in the meantime…

It’s time for the May Call for Questions! Yes, there’s less than a week left in the month, so if you have any questions, just put them in chat and we’ll do our best to answer them. (And, because Zekta’s on vacation, it will probably be just me, which means I can’t promise much, unless you want to kick butt in Contra. But I digress…)

So put your questions in comments! We’ll do our best to answer them.

How much, if any, pre-Cataclysm materials will you stock for Cataclysm? If you do, what materials will you stock?

Do you ever undercut your own auctions? If so, under what circumstance?

Do you enter into business agreements with gatherers?

      Thanks for the questions, Hug!
RE: Stocking up. I wrote a whole post on this after you asked. http://Phase3Profit.net/2010/05/p3p’s-idiot’s-guide-to-stocking-up-for-cataclysm/

RE: Do I undercut. Yes, I do, but only for commodities that I have a large supply of, ie: ammunition or common quality gems. Rather than cancel my auction, I’ll just post more of my stock. Occasionally there is a run on the item and I sell out all that I’ve posted, and thereby I save my posting fee.

Re: gatherers. Yes, yes and YES! Finding gatherers to farm for you is something I love to do. Most of my gatherers have dropped off recently, but I encourage making relationships with gatherers. You can use their mats and get a better price, and they can avoid the AH fee and always get a consistent buyer. It’s a win-win, and it can make you HUGE amounts of money.

What are your feelings on the Mobile Auction House? Should Blizzard be charging for something we are already paying for?

Will this affect how you post your auctions?

Will it give people an advantage?

Do you see it changing the way that goblins (don’t know what else to call the AH/money making segment) are going to use the AH? I feel that with the 200 posting limit and what I am sure will be a clunky (relative to the Auctioneer interface) interface it will not be able to handle my auctioning requirements. It might be good for sniping out low prices when news drops.
