Check Out BankAlt.com
Hello again, Dear Reader. I am back from a hectic few weeks. The Lovely Ms. Jimm is now, technically, Mrs. Jimm, and thus far, married life is great. Everything in our life is, essentially, the same… and now we are no longer paying for a wedding. Good times!
But enough about me, let’s talk about a website that I was just recently made aware of. This comes from longtime P3P reader, commenter, and fellow AIE-guildy, Tyberiuss. He recently sent me the following:
Ever since WhatsTheMats.com bit the dust, I have been looking for a replacement for researching crafting mats. One attempt at a replacement site caught my eye during late WotLK; however, it languished through the start of Cataclysm. I recently corresponded with the author of this newer site and he has finally updated it to include Cataclysm content. Check it out: http://www.bankalt.com/.

I took a quick look at bankalt.com and I like the site. I like the layout, and real-time filtering function. It’s easy to use, and very straightforward. I appreciate the functionality and layout.
Personally, I don’t have much use for sites like this. My day-job doesn’t allow much time for wasting time online. However, for those of you who are stuck at a desk/in-class all day, this can be a useful tool. So check it out!
A final note:
Tyberiuss is, in my humble opinion, an excellent example of why it can be good for one person to have a ton of gold. He was gold capped in WotLK. When his raid team finished their goal (Hardmode ICC? ICC 25? I can’t remember, but it was something they were working on for a while.) ANYWAYS, when the raid finally got through the content they were working on, Tyberiuss was so excited that he gave everyone hogs.
Wait, read that again: he gave everyone in his raid group a Mechano-Hog. (If anyone’s confused about the cost of a hog, I encourage you to head over to bankalt.com to find out exactly what the mats are for it. It’s not cheap, and it was more expensive pre-Cataclysm.)
I ask you, Dear Reader, to think about that act. It’s worth considering, no matter how much gold you have. That kind of gesture is remarkable. Maybe it’s something to aspire to if you don’t have enough gold yet, or if you’re capped, maybe it’s something you should consider… I dunno. No matter how much you have, it was a great gesture… one of the little things that players do to make the game that much more rewarding.
