[Zekta] whispers: What's the point of getting gold anyway?

One Spreadsheet to rule them all

Zekta Chan
Zekta Chan

First of all,
I wasn’t planning to write an review on “The Ultima Spreadsheet” Sarainy is building before. Since Seth had mentioned it and Carbon already did a pretty good review on that.

But This spreadsheet is really worth your time.
Plus Sarainy is offering an review post on anyone mentioning her spreadsheet, here we go… (And Goblin respond to incentive, right? Shamelessly XD )

I had tried the spreadsheet, it’s a big list of cost calculation and decision recommendation.
(Should I sell it or disenchant it? or should I make it at all?)

This is nice, when you are pretty fresh in an industry,
(I never set foot in trading ore/ingot/bs) you never know the in and out and relation of the product. 7 out of 10 Fresh Leveled Scribe, never heard of Jessica…

Here is a good start, and by looking on the spreadsheet,
you can spot what’s your next target of profit industry as well
Or make forunte when the profit is high enough

Good work, Sarainy
/salute

P.s I am looking for Guest Blogger

LF Guest Poster!

A little short blog update…

As you may notice, I started my raiding career with my New Main Notus..
I am still work hard to balance time on blogging, raiding, work and family (especially with gf)

I would really want some help on having guest poster here…
A little summary of the state of the blog. There are 5 type of post we had here now

  1. Reactive post – post that reply to others’ post, thoughts and comments
  2. Wow Econ, Some economic perspective to Wow, including trading, player behavior, guild, pug etc. (Included but not limited to Gold-Making)
  3. Trader Tips – Fellow trader’s tips, e.g. how to start a bank guild
(notice: not guild bank), New Add-on, Market Change
  4. Me as player – Rant, Goblin type – thoughts on Raiding,
  5. Others – Silly post and Not-so-Weekly Report for instance

I had been posting like 4(Player), 1(Reactive), 5(Others), 3(Trader), 2(Wow-econ)…

In which I would like more post on 2(Wow-Econ) and 3(Trader-Tips).

I would consider Wow-econ post is hardest to write (for me), since it’s usually long and hard to polish…

I am continuously looking for guest poster on these topics, If you had an idea would want to talk about, and think this blog is worthy for your publication, please contact me

Thanks for Wowenomics team’s intro, we found an awesome guide on gold making.
Most of you had already read this on their blog,
but for anyone who had missed, I would like to highlight this for you again.

It’s nice for a quick revision and education material for those financial struggling guildmate we all have.

The Opportunity Cost session is my favorite. I was having a hard time trying to explain that to others.

Now, with no more delay, Here it’s, Enjoy

Guild in Cataclysm : To Reduce Divorce Rate ?

Zekta Chan
Zekta Chan
divorce-humor

I hesitative to talk about the guild changes of cataclysm, I know it will be huge, but since it’s not set, so I don’t want to talking about it much before.

Heat discussion had been on, and I am with the goblin.
Guild life won’t be better, same people, different game setup. (Just another thing to grind, IMO)
M&S will still out-number the player with the right attitude (or Elite-Jerk at their view).

Attaching player’s effort to keep them to a guild,
= Enforce a harder divorce policy in a country to reduce Divorce Rate

Of course the benifits on the guild (IRL, tax reduction from goverment) will make player hesitative to look for a better guild, and stay in a guild (Sololist on Elnia ’s term).
It surely will decrease divorce rate (Guild Hopping) and increase the number of couples (Player stay in guild, rather than soloing).

But will that increase happy marriage (Which we really want?)
or just prolonging painful matches?

We’ll see…

P.s
Once again, I respond on topics rather than a original one, call me traffic leecher if you want to, but I rather post my comment here than a sinking long list of comments :)

Missed spot on Farming

Zekta Chan

Although personally I dislike farming,

It is indeed a good place for starter’s gold.

Will got a nice article on his insightful spot for farming at wowconfidential

I would said it’s quite creative, and found a missing gem on the market. Which is the essence of a great trader. If you gotta farm, farm smart..

In his word…

It’s a video I made a few days ago which show how I make 700+gold/hour, one of my top methods of making gold:

It’s by farming Boar Ribs. I can farm 65/hour and sell them for 3.95g each.

A lot of people who power level cooking will buy mats up on the AH and for some reason Boar Ribs are in really low supply and high demand.

I make 700+ gold an hour farming this from my route. (it says 500+ g/hr but I am now selling for 3.95g each instead of 2.95g)

check it out here:
http://www.wowconfidential.com/2009/08/13/earn-500-gold-an-hour-from-boar-ribs-cooking-powerleveling-item/

Nice article, indeed…
